As the second largest island in Indonesia, Sumatra located in the western-most island in the Indonesian archipelago, covering an area of 473,481 square kilometers. Geographically, Sumatra has a volcanic mountain range, known as Bukit Barisan, covers the province from east to west. Starting from the Orang Utan Rehabilitation Center in the Gunung Leuser National Park which is bordered by the fast flowing Bohorok River and some delightful countryside and of course lake Toba, legendary birthplace of the mountain-dwelling Bataks tribe, climb to the top of Mount Kerinci of Jambi, surfing on wild Mentawai islands with its primitive tribe of Mentawai, the giant flowers Rafflesia Arnoldi, blooming only once a year in November at Batang Palupuh, the native Sumatran elephants at the oldest reserves Way Kambas National Park. By visiting Sumatra it simply mean a never ending adventure.
